When you find an children’s author that you absolutely love, you want to know everything about them. You want to know when they started and how they got started and what made them pick what they wrote books about. Basically you want to know everything about their lives without knowing them personally.
Ted Geisel loved to doodle since he was a kid, he had a fun and out beat personality. He loved to throw dinner parties where guest has to where different kinds of hats.  He got the idea for cat in the hat from the dinner guest party, with everyone’s different types of hat they all wore. It just simply tells you all about Dr. Seuss life and how he began writing and started thinking of his ideas for all his different books and what made him to write all the different books that are now hits.
This can be a book you can use when talking about different types of authors because it’s a good way to find out more about one of the authors that most children love. Children find it interesting about learning where these people started and that they are normal people just like us, but they are just very successful with their writing. It just gets all the student involved in the authors and getting them more excited about reading their different types of books they have written. Its also something that can be in the classroom library for people just to look at them and browse them on their own time. The book was written in a way easy for children to understand and follow and it does have some pictures that are in black and white to go along with his story he is telling.
